The start of Cursed is more sedate, overdescriptive at times, and with more quiet scenes than you'd have been expecting from how Gilded ended. And for all you cover judgers, this one’s a contender for the year’s best, bringing all the haunting fairytale vibes you could possibly want. Not when any corner could reveal a dark one sneering at her or some otherworldly monster watching her with hungry eyes. If your family is not ready for darker, violent reads and LGBTQ inclusion this book is to be avoided.Serilda and Gild have no choice but to thwart his plans, all the while solving the mystery of Gild's forgotten name, and freeing all the ghosts kept in servitude to the dark ones.

There are times when she makes hasty decisions, but she's definitely grown from the last book and I adored seeing things from her point of view again.
