Our family has used the Merlin’s Magic Sleepsuit for both of our children! The exact age varies from baby to baby. The older they get, the more their reflexive startles diminish so they don’t need the Magic Sleepsuit physiologically the way they do as younger babies. Developmentally, if your baby is younger than 3 months old, they may still need to be swaddled. The feel of the magic sleepsuit may not be right for them yet and you will not experience the “magic” of the sleepsuit. Transitioning out of the Magic Sleepsuit Although the sleep suit is easy to put on, it doesn’t allow for easy diaper changes. You’ll have to take your baby almost all of the way out of it to change his diaper. We woke up roughly the same amount of times and putting him to sleep at the beginning of the night was pretty typical of what we normally saw. But what I did find was that he went to sleep easier throughout the night after his wakings. Small win, but I’ll take it! Whenever we had an “accident” or a bit too much spit up, I was so glad to be able to toss my sleepsuit in the washing machine! Just be sure it is on cold and a gentle cycle (recommended with like colors buuuuuut I’m never good with that even with my own clothes!!).
