Our family has used the Merlin’s Magic Sleepsuit for both of our children! It has been a great transitional product for our babies once they began rolling over, as it kept them feeling snug and secure. Baby Merlin’s Magic Sleepsuit was created by a pediatric physical therapist and a mom who, just like all of us, just wanted her baby to sleep better at night. It took us from exhausted parents who could never set our baby down to sleep, to having no idea what to do with our “free time” during his naps. This worked for us but you must discuss with your own pediatrician to make a safe plan for your baby - every baby develops differently and has different needs. For us, co-sleeping, with Hudson in our bedroom or in our bed, resulted in a very exhausted family. Since the move, we all sleep better and have adequate rest so we know it was the right decision for our little family. What’s The Final Verdict? We incorporated the Merlin’s Magic Sleepsuit into our nightly routine the same way we did with their original swaddle blankets. Keeping their routine the same helped with the transition to a different kind of sleeping accessory.

SAFER SLEEP: Carefully designed with safety as a top priority. Love to Dream Sleep Suits stay on throughout sleep time, keeping your babies and toddlers comfortably snug without the need for blankets or loose layers making it a safer option. All our sleepwear are specially designed to allow for different room temperatures & seasons reducing the risk of overheating. Each of our products are made to the highest quality standards, are performance tested & certified by the relevant safety standards. The Magic Sleepsuit is designed for a specific developmental window from swaddle transition until babies are ready for more freedom of movement. The exact age varies from baby to baby. The older they get, the more their reflexive startles diminish so they don’t need the Magic Sleepsuit physiologically the way they do as younger babies. Developmentally, if your baby is younger than 3 months old, they may still need to be swaddled. The feel of the magic sleepsuit may not be right for them yet and you will not experience the “magic” of the sleepsuit. Transitioning out of the Magic Sleepsuit Although the sleep suit is easy to put on, it doesn’t allow for easy diaper changes. You’ll have to take your baby almost all of the way out of it to change his diaper. We woke up roughly the same amount of times and putting him to sleep at the beginning of the night was pretty typical of what we normally saw. But what I did find was that he went to sleep easier throughout the night after his wakings. Small win, but I’ll take it! Whenever we had an “accident” or a bit too much spit up, I was so glad to be able to toss my sleepsuit in the washing machine! Just be sure it is on cold and a gentle cycle (recommended with like colors buuuuuut I’m never good with that even with my own clothes!!).

Would you need a blanket in the room? If yes, your baby may benefit from a wearable blanket (no loose blankets in the crib!) Now that we are on the other side of sleep training, we put him into his bed awake. He plays with his giraffe pacifier for a few minutes and then puts himself to sleep. The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) recommends keeping your baby in your room for 6-12 months of age to reduce the risk of Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS). We made the decision as a family and with our pediatrician to move Hudson into his own bedroom at five months. If you have a warmer room or are using this during a hot time of year, be sure to pay attention to baby’s temperature and the temperature of baby’s room. The recommended room temperature for a baby is between 68 to 72 degrees Fahrenheit or 20 to 22 degrees Celsius.
