Directions contains no peroxide, and is therefore best suited to use on light blonde or pre-lightened hair. url": "https://www.lorealparisusa.com/beauty-magazine/hair-color/hair-color-tutorials/how-to-get-apricot-hair" La Riche Directions Apricot (88ml) is a stunning and user-friendly semi-permanent hair colour. The easy to follow instructions and simple application process help you create the ultimate look with ease. The colour shown is based on bleached hair and may not necessarily indicate the final colour which will depend on your base colour, hair type and porosity. The colours displayed are simulations. We try to represent the Apricot colour as accurately as possible. The results will vary depending on your hair colour, hair type, the process and the products used before dying. Directions Hair Dye doesn't have specific longevity on the hair. Do not mix with peroxide. To Achieve lighter shades than your currently colour, we recommend seeking professional advice. Always do a skin patch test and strand test first.

Optionally, if you'd like to avoid dye stains around the hairline apply a Vasaline or a small amount of baby oil, but don't let this get in your hair! Please note that Royal Mail currently classes perfumes, nail polishes, flammable liquids and aerosols as "hazardous materials" and will only accept a limited number of these per parcel. At my appointment, Jo and Louisa Moore, who’s worked at the salon for four years and will be dyeing my hair, discuss which shade of apricot will best suit me. Apricot as a hair colour encompasses a palette from warm coppery reds through to lighter strawberry blondes and Jo and Louisa plump for a shade somewhere in the middle. As Louisa mixes the L’Oreal hair dye (permanent – well, in for a penny, in for a pound) I’m not nervous in the slightest. In fact I’m quite exhilarated by it all. Darker shades may give a sheen of colour to darker hair but we recommend pre-lightening for the best results. Once the dye has been applied, ensure you wait a few days before washing your hair for the first time!

Once your dye has developed, thoroughly rinse Directions out of your hair with warm water, ensure you rinse away from your face and body. La Riche has also formulated a fantastic range of Shampoo and Conditioners to help you get the most out of your colour. The Pre Colour Shampoo will balance your hair's PH before dying whilst removing excess oils to ensure the best results from the Hair Colour. Whilst the Colour Care Shampoo and Conditioner have been developed to be kind to your hair and will ensure your colour lasts!

Apply the dye using a tint brush, Comb gently into your hair until it becomes frothy, and ensure all the hair you wish to cover is fully saturated. This is because Directions’ vibrant range works best on hair that is a 9 or 10 on the colour shade scale. As a general rule, the lighter your hair’s shade, the more likely the colour you apply will be as bright and vivid as you intend it to be, particularly for lighter/softer colours. After 20 minutes under the dryer Louisa washes out the colour – then adds a vegetable dye, which actually smells of apricots, for extra shine and vibrancy.
