For an easy alternative, choose It’s Pure Auburn. Alternatively, you could try the It's Pure 'Chestnut' shade, which will offer a similar result on mid to dark brown colours. You can add some drops of essential oil if desired,but I personally don’t mind the smell of it as-is. I washed out as directed and then blow-dried my hair. As my hair was getting dryer and dryer it was also getting really freaking red and so I just found myself standing in a poop covered (henna) bathroom with my ginger hair. Don’t get be wrong it was a very nice color, and it didn’t look bad on me at all—I just didn’t want red hair. We have tested our Auburn henna hair dye on 7 different hair strands.
