Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking other products that cause drowsiness such as opioid pain or cough relievers (such as codeine, hydrocodone), alcohol, marijuana ( cannabis), drugs for sleep or anxiety (such as alprazolam, lorazepam, zolpidem), muscle relaxants (such as carisoprodol, cyclobenzaprine), or other antihistamines (such as cetirizine, diphenhydramine). To minimize dizziness and lightheadedness, get up slowly when rising from a sitting or lying position. If you are taking or have recently taken any other medicines including herbal medicines and those that you may have bought yourself. Chlorphenamine can interfere with the action of some other drugs and some drugs can have an effect on chlorphenamine. The drugs which can cause some problems when taken together with chlorphenamine are: If you are taking the extended-release capsules, swallow them whole. Do not crush or chew extended-release capsules or tablets. Doing so can release all of the drug at once, increasing the risk of side effects. The best way to do this is to keep a food diary. Make a note of everything you eat during the day and what, if any, symptoms you experience. Also note when these symptoms occur.
