About this deal

The first is Harvest Time, an unreleased two-hour film shot during the making of Harvest, with footage from Young’s ‘Harvest Barn’ sessions in Northern California, recording sessions in Nashville and London. Additionally, the hardbound book will include never-before-seen photos along with extensive liner notes by photographer Joel Bernstein.

The whole box is quite pretentious for someone who claims to be greenwashed, full of useless paper, cardboard and plastic.

But part of the fun of these reissues is the extra goodies that enhance the original songs and help the listener peer into the process of making music, and this is where the 50th Anniversary Edition excels. The Harvest Time DVD is a 2-hour treasure trove of Neil playing with what was likely the most talented band he ever assembled. The material on this site may not be reproduced, distributed, transmitted, cached or otherwise used, except with the prior written permission of Condé Nast. Also seen are sessions with the London Symphony Orchestra, creating the full sounds we get to hear on “Maid” and “There’s A World,” studio time with legendary Nashville DJ Scott Shannon, and more than enough extended jam sessions to satisfy the most hardcore of Neil Young fans. The BBC word mark and logo is a trade mark of The British Broadcasting Corporation and is used under license from BBC Worldwide.

The two DVDs provide a new glimpse into Harvest, including Harvest Time (an unreleased two-hour film shot during the making of Harvest, with footage from Young’s Harvest Barn sessions in Northern California and recording sessions in Nashville and London) and film of the unreleased solo BBC Concert recorded on February 23rd, 1971. Neil Young will reissue Harvest for its 50th anniversary, adding a previously unreleased documentary and concert film, three outtakes from the sessions, and more. Also included are three unreleased tracks from the original Harvest sessions: “Bad Fog of Loneliness,” “Journey Through The Past,” and “Dance Dance Dance. This should be amazing as it captures the making of the album from start to finish and was directed by Neil Young and his film crew in 1971. Maggie May" performed by Rod Stewart courtesy of Island Records under license from Universal Music Enterprises Published by EMI Blackwood Music Inc.The Asylum Years (1972-1975) will be available as a 5CD with an accompanying book featuring photos and a conversation about this period between Joni Mitchell and longtime . Both sets come with a poster and a hardcover book which includes never-before-seen photos along with extensive sleeve notes by photographer Joel Bernstein. The Dark Side Of The Moon’ is the eighth studio album by Pink Floyd, originally released in March 1973. Neil Young’s most popular album, 1972’s Harvest, will be reissued for its 50th anniversary in December. First up are three outtakes from the Harvest sessions: “Bad Fog,” with an acoustic intro that evokes “Needle”; “Dance Dance Dance,” a punchy, upbeat number; and “Journey Through the Past,” a sweet song of longing with great slide work that’s already grabbed a place among my favorite Neil Young songs.

If there is a certificate we’ve missed out on then it’s probably for a 50 metre swim badge at the local swimming baths. On every level, Harvest (written when Young was barely 25 years old) is art without peer, maybe even in Young’s own illustrious career. The 50th Anniversary Edition Box Sets will be released December 2, 2022 on Vinyl and CD, boasting the original album, three studio outtakes on CD/7” vinyl, an unreleased live 1971 BBC solo performance on CD, LP and DVD.
