In NME, Nick Kent described "the accompaniments [as] often so trashy they sound like mere practice takes", [43] while Crawdaddy magazine's Jim Cusimano found the instrumentation incompetent.

Who was written off as a has-been by the end of the '80s and who suddenly shifted gears, releasing some of the strongest music of his career beginning in the late '90s. Shelter From The Storm is just undiluted genius, this track more than all the others shows a master at the very height of his craft, in mid muse and sailing, this reminds you the man was born with a luscious gift and we are the lucky ones he shares it with.

This is without a doubt my favorite DYLAN DISC, and with the lineup of tracks on this LP, it is easy to see why. A good thing Bob didn't play Hurricane" I thought to myself, "otherwise someone would be pinning the blame for last night's Wind on him.

Blood On The Tracks" from 1974 is a work that should not be missing in any record collection - the fans consider it one of Dylan's most irresistible albums with song pearls like "If You See Her, Say Hello", "Tangled Up In Blue" and "Shelter From The Storm". Throughout, tunes come on and proceed as if they could continue forever, Dylan spinning poetic verses and conversations amidst finely tied knots of acoustic notes, chords, and fills, the deceivingly simple architecture conjuring the intertwined refractions of a bezeled jewel, various angles, colors, and textures conjoining into a gorgeously inseparable whole. Informed of the album's popularity, Dylan told Mary Travers in a radio interview in April 1975: "A lot of people tell me they enjoy that album. For all the melancholic pain, unresolved questions, shattered memories, wasted times, unrequited dialogs, and weary regret within, Blood on the Tracks remains as daring as it is reflective. Anyway, I do hope someone out there gives Mr Dylan Shelter From The Storm during these difficult and unprecedented times. Este es uno de los mejores y más reconocidos álbumes de la carrera de Bob Dylan, y probablemente de la historia de la música en general. Instead, Dylan has legitimized his claim to a creative prowess as vital now as then—a power not bounded by the one decade he so affected. An alternate take of the song " Shelter from the Storm" is featured in the original soundtrack album for Jerry Maguire (1996).

The first couple of times I played the Mobile Fidelity LP, I missed some of the edge in Dylan’s voice on “Idiot Wind” and “Tangled up in Blue.Buckets of Rain came down all night though and the next morning Seven Oaks in Kent had just the one oak remaining. For me this is the weakest track on the the album because it doesn't really fit in, but would have sounded goos on Desire, which was more bluesy.

It is, in short, a consummate expression of love's darker sides and the consequences of what happens when dreams unravel. The stand out track for me is Simple Twist of Fate absolutely beautiful the best 4 minutes of Dylan I have ever heard. Some of his songs, such as "Blowin' in the Wind" and "The Times They Are A-Changin'", became anthems of the anti-war and civil rights movements, with Joan Baez and Dylan singing together at the March on Washington in 1963. Everybody agrees that was pretty different, and what's different about it is there's a code in the lyrics, and also there's no sense of time.He has also recently performed alongside other iconic artists, such as Paul Simon, Joni Mitchell, Tom Petty and Eric Clapton. Whilst owning a few compilations of his earlier work and more recent albums like Modern Times I enjoyed Bob Dylan's music, but probably preferred other artists interpretations his songs; the Byrds, the Nice, etc.
