Ultimately, I can’t say that this is a bad book because it runs along fine it’s just that none of the beats here are a surprise, none of the characters are really elevated enough for me, the plot runs to a formula and I was a little ticked off that a murder which should be viewed as an awful act but here is really just a plot point aside that Agatha doesn’t really seem to care about beyond having something to solve and doesn’t even merit a named perpetrator. Her Caribbean accent is slightly stronger when she’s surprised – it’s the only ‘tell’ she has – the only clue to her real emotions. With a fun plot, and great characters it’s a fantastic adventurous mystery for younger children and a fun quick read for us adults! A third mystery for 13-year-old Agatha Oddly - a bold, determined heroine and the star of this stylish new detective series. A third mystery for thirteen-year-old Agatha Oddly - a bold, determined heroine, and the star of this stylish new detective series.Agatha is perfectly poised to solve the mystery of what’s going on — not least because she has a secret key that gives her access to a whole hidden side of London! Agatha and Liam, followed by a new third friend Brianna, have to continue finding clues, even while they are being threatened by the criminal. The third book in the series is The Silver Serpent, which takes place in Venice, Italy, where Agatha and Corvus are on holiday. Pacing is okay but the characterisation very thin and I have to say that I never believed in Agatha as a character as her reactions never ring true and the Poirot element is very gimmicky. There are a few secondary characters we get to know over the course of the book, Liam Lau is Agatha’s best friend at St Regis and the Hastings to her Poirot.

Meet thirteen-year-old Agatha Oddly - a bold, determined heroine who has been a detective for as long as she can remember. We mainly use Royal Mail Tracked 48 Service for goods which weight less then 2kg, all other goods will be delivered by a Courier. Agatha is an intelligent girl who gained a scholarship to the prestigious St Regis school, otherwise filled with the sons and daughters of the rich of London Agatha doesn’t really fit in, and has a number of nicknames, including the titular Agatha Oddly, but she doesn’t let that stop her! I take a deep breath: ‘I’ve saved London twice now but you haven’t trusted me with a case of my own yet. g. there’s a scene where her father reveals that he’s thinking of taking a job in Cornwall and although I did believe in Agatha’s initial upset at the thought of leaving her friends and the Guild behind, within a couple of days she’s then apologising to her dad for her less than enthusiastic reaction and saying she just wants him to be happy and that just didn’t ring true – I’d have rather had her been furious and resentful and recognising her bad reaction and owning it than just meekly getting over it.

She has a scholarship to the prestigious St Regis School and a room full of green and gold-embossed editions of detective books to help her solve any mystery. As Agatha’s investigation continued and the stakes began to rise he begins to worry about her which I found quite sweet, I really liked the fact that when she needed him he was there. Not wanting to waste time, I grab him by the arm and start to stride through the Leicester Square crowds, in the direction of the Tube station.

Ever since se was young she had a dream of becoming a detective after her mum made her read crime books but will se be the hero of this story? Agatha, with the help of her best friends Liam and Brianna, must uncover the secret plot before it’s too late. This is a brilliant book to read because my favourite character was Liam because he is always trying to look after Agatha.McManus Karen Maitland Karen Ross Karl James Mountford Karl Newson Kate Alice Marshall Kate Hodges Kate McQuaile Kate Pickett Kate Weston Katherine Arden Katherine Trebeck Katherine Webber Katherine Woodfine Kathrin Honesta Kathryn Foxfield Katie Dicker Katie Tsang Katie Williams Katie Woodley Katrin Kohl Katy Jakeway Keir Milburn Keith Payne Kelly McCaughrain Kelly Palmer Ken Liu Kenneth Anderson Keri Hulme Kevin Crossley-Holland Kevin Tsang Khurrum Rahman Kia Marie Hunt Kimberly Whittam Kim Culbertson Kim Curran Kim Hillyard Kiran Millwood Hargrave Kirstie Capes Kristen Ciccarelli Kristen Lepionka Kyan Cheng Kyle Hilton L.
