Dana, Josh’s unlikely friend and at times confidant, is also a truly real character and her journey is similarly difficult, but poignant to read. It’s a fantastic independent book seller that will actually be responsive and select appropriate books for you.

Grow is a compelling, heartfelt, confident novel, that like I Am Thunder And I Won’t Keep Quiet deals with issues of radicalism in our society.

It was set up to be a dark gritty rabbit hole of violence and intolerance but it tended to just hover over the surface and for me, that's where it let me down. But I applaud author and grower Grace Alexander’s honesty in this book, because this is the most valuable tip for anyone wanting to grow flowers (or pretty much anything else). This experience has been fantastic primarily for the children, the school and also for me (professionally). To understand what encourages women to go out, work the soil, plant seeds and nurture them, even when so many other responsibilities sit upon their shoulders.

A Christian course for the twenty-first century, Pilgrim offers an approach of participation, not persuasion. His other books include Spiritual Classics from the Early Church, The Contented Life and The Good Worship Guide: Leading liturgy well. Beneficial micro-organisms, bokashi or biodynamic compost, permaculture, vortex, power of the elements… The Organic Grow Book opens the doors to a full-scale (r)evolution where productivity goes hand in hand with quality. The most enjoyable part of the reading process might be the fact that you constantly want to close your eyes and stop reading. Having starred in the Kay Mellor BBC Drama Syndicate as Sam as well as starring in the hit West End musical Waitress as Ogie, which earned him rave reviews from critics. Will he find the strength to resist, or will his unlikely relationship with Dana give them both the escape that they so badly need?

Get little gardeners growing and learning with this beautifully illustrated book, packed with information and crafty stuff to do.If you are a jeweller struggling to make a great, sustainable living from your craft this book was made for you. However, I appreciated the character building in this book and admired Josh’s character development and ‘growth’. But I quickly became involved with the characters (who felt authentic to me - as did the school setting, not surprisingly as I believe Luke is also a teacher) and - very unusually - read the last half in a couple of hours. a joy, full of restless curiosity about gardening, life, the longing for meaning, and the simple yet quietly feminist act of creating a space for yourself * * Independent * * Why Women Grow shows the beauty and grit of tending the soil in difficult times. There are nurserymen, head gardeners, designers, edibles experts, biodynamic practitioners, Chelsea medal-winners and more, each sharing a unique story about their favourite plants.

Also included are tips about what wildlife you may see, raiding your recycling box to make some useful gardening accessories and other decorative craft activities. Alice Holden, one of Britain’s most pioneering female growers, has spent her life outdoors working on small and large scales – from the kitchen gardens of Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall’s River Cottage to commercial farms. An unflinching portrayal of race hate and right-wing extremism, this poetic yet gritty novel challenges the hatred and ignorance shown by so many and explores the damage it can cause through its conflicted teenage protagonist, Josh.

Grow is a page turner because it really gets under your skin; you get involved with the characters; you want it to work out well but you can see just how wrong it can go.
