About this deal

Registered address: Unit 5, Vulcan House Business Centre, Vulcan Road, Leicester, LE5 3EF, United kingdom. My six and half year old boy who wasn't much in to reading anything 6 months ago has really enjoyed this series. With practical ideas for building confidence, resilience and self-belief, as well as dealing with failure, the book has been hugely popular for children unlocking their potential. Does the book contain anything that teachers would wish to know about before recommending in class (strong language, sensitive topics etc.

Fergus Hamilton lives and dreams bikes and is really excited about training for the Great Cycle Challenge with his friends. I love this book, the characters are very descriptive, the plot surrounds a magic bike witch was given to him on his birthday by his mum and grandad. The Hercules' Hopefuls are going to the Nationals, and not even Wallace's Winners competing too can wipe the smiles off their faces.A nice flow with understandable use of language and a selection of fitting illustrations by Clare Elsom meant that it was really enjoyable either way and the chorus of ‘one more chapter’ every time one came to end was testament to the enjoyment she got from it.

All Fergus wants for his ninth birthday is “The Sullivan Swift”, a top of the range bike that will ensure his success in the local time trials, but ever since his dad disappeared, years before, his mum and granddad have struggled financially to raise him and can’t afford such an expensive present. To start with Fergus was disappointed with his bike but his grandfather encouraged him and gave him confidence.

Written with co-author Joanna Nadin, an award-winning children’s author, and illustrated by Clare Elsom, the tenth and final book in the successful series was published in February 2019. The stories are imaginative, action-packed, exciting and with lots of great messages about team work and perseverance. This popular series of books, first published in 2016, is aimed at 5-8 year olds, when children often start cycling and reading independently.

Although reluctant to sound like my Great Auntie Beryl, the word that sums this book up is delightful. Four years later in Beijing he became the first Briton since 1908 to win three gold medals in a single Olympic Games. Living with his mum and grandad and his dog; Chimp; he dreams of a state-of-the-art Sullivan Swift and becoming the most brilliant boy cyclist in the world. The Hercules' Hopefuls are through to the next round of the cycling tournament, but there's a big problem. When Wesley and the others don't get back to the boarding house, and a storm starts to rage outside, Fergus knows their only hope is to get insider information from someone he knows will have the answers: Dad.The Great Cycle Challenge: Fergus takes a magical trip to Nevermore, where he and Princess Lily discover a magical compass bell once owned by Fergus's dad.

He checked all the places where his usual presents would be but there was no new bike because his Mum said it was too dangerous and he could fall off. Clare grew up in Oxford, then studied a BA in Illustration at Falmouth University (lots of drawing) and later completed an MA in Children's Literature at Roehampton University (lots of writing). The Winning Team: The Hercules' Hopefuls are going to the Nationals, and not even Wallace's Winners competing too can wipe the smiles off their faces. Heartwarming stories about the power of true friendship and sticking together when times are tough - with added magic and mayhem!
