Description

We recommend using the clear version, as it delivers a beautifully natural finish. The same can't quite be said about the teak colour, as it's a little orange. For the best protection, apply an exterior wood preservative to protect against mould, algae, dry rot, woodworm and wood related diseases Oils often come in natural colours or clear, and enhance the natural appearance of your wood,' explains Jimmy Englezos, senior product manager at Sherwin-Williams. Then, apply the oil using a paint roller or brush, ensuring you are working in the direction of the wood grain.

Apply by brush or spray. Available in 5 colours and clear. The image below gives an approximation of the colours when applied to clean, bare/pale wood. As with most products like this, we recommend a test patch first. We also deliver to the majority of non mainland UK locations including The scottish Highlands & islands, Isle of Man, Isle of Wight, Isles of Scilly and Northern Ireland. Please see full delivery terms for the extra charges associated with these locations Oil is also really durable and is easy to maintain – you just need to keep it clean and touch it up every now and then. It’s very resistant to dirt and water so doesn’t require much upkeep at all.' Coverage: 1 coat up to 8 sq metres/litre of smooth timber and up to 5 sq metres on rough sawn timber, 2 coats recommended. Colours: The colour swatches are an indication only and representative of the product applied to clean new/pale timber. The final colour finish can vary considerably due to the age, type & condition of the timber being treated. We always recommend carrying out a test area first in an inconspicuous area to make sure you are happy with the final dried colour.

How to use Ultimate Protection Decking Oil

It’s designed to penetrate deep into the wood to replace the natural oils lost over time through weathering, and to offer deep-seated protection against splitting and drying, while the tinted oil brings out the colour in greyed wood for a fresh look. If it doesn't bead, you'll be ready to put on the oil. If it does then you'll have to clean it again until the water stops beading. Not to mention that it replenishes some of the natural wood oils that have been lost due to a variety of factors.

Using wood stain on external items and surfaces offers both homeowners and professionals several big advantages. For example, it prevents the wood from rotting if it hasn't already been sealed. It also protects wood from moisture and sun damage, preventing the wood from breaking in freezing temperatures and unsightly discolouration.
