With a patented design, the R1 goggles are ROKA’s premium goggle offering — and come in seven different colors (each designed for different swimming conditions). The light amber pair, for example, is for low light, mist, fog, haze and enhances orange and red buoys, while the cobalt pair is great for ocean swims and enhance yellow and green buoys. There are also mirrored options for direct sunshine and clear lenses for morning light and indoor swimming.

Our aim is to create better products combining research, science and reality. Team Huub has 4 decades worth of experience gained in the field of endurance sports (yes, we've done the miles, but still have the passion!). If your swimming goggles keep leaking, despite you adjusting them to fit your nose, and around your head, it might be that they aren't the right pair for you. Despite these swimming goggles being the best on test, they might not be the best for your face shape or bone structure if they keep leaking. Finally, whatever level of swimmer you might be, it's a good idea to select a pair of swimming goggles that can easily be adjusted. Look for things like an adjustable nose bridge, which will help the goggles sit comfortably on the bridge of your nose, and prevent you from having to adjust them each length of the pool. How do you stop swimming goggles from leaking? We've been wanting to make a prescription goggle but have never found a goggle good enough or been able to accommodate the multiple lenses needed. We also wanted to make our fantastic interchangeable goggle even better... So, we made the Altair a prescription lens fit goggle, in addition to the three standard-issue lenses, surely that’s the answer to both our dilemmas!

Comfort and feel of the Huub Altair Goggles

This summer offered perfect timing for reviewing new goggles as I prepared for an endurance swim crossing the Solent for the Aspire charity meaning plenty of time swimming in every type of water. The choice of Huub goggle for this venture being their top of the range Altair goggle kindly provided by the very helpful team at Huub Design. Arriving in the post direct from Huub first impressions are very very good with the goggles in a hardened case with the multiple lenses and replacement nose rubbers. It shouts nothing but quality which is very much the experience Huub are aiming for and where the brand is pitched. Uniquely the Altair comes with inter-changeable lenses allowing you to have a single set of goggles for the various types of swimming you may do. This feature has long since been a part of cycling glasses design and therefore many of our triathlete readership expecting this and Huub leading the way with a clever design that enables this. The Altairs have three mirrored lenses (all made from a high-grade poly carbonate). Huub describes each of these lenses as follows: One step up from tinted and mirrored lenses are polarised lenses. They work the same as polarised sunglasses, reducing glare while also making everything look sharper. Good for swimming in bright sunlight, reducing glare off the surface of the water – and also exploring underwater! A recent winner of Best Trisuit Brand of the year, HUUB continues to be at the forefront of sports science and design, producing triathlon clothing worn by elite athletes. The brand of choice for the Brownlee brothers and Helen Jenkins, HUUB is constantly researching innovative ways to maximise the potential of the athletes who wear its products.

For open water swimmers plunging into salty oceans, shimmering lakes or fresh-water rivers, Zone3’s Vapour Goggles are the ones you need. With larger lenses, these are some of the most comfortable goggles on our list — and they suit both male and female faces. The polarized version is available in three different colorways — metallic gold, blue, and silver — plus, you can also get your hands on a swanky exclusive Tim Don inspired pair in navy and neon orange. If polarized mirrored lenses aren’t your thing, fear not, they also come in photochromatic and clear pale blue. The Altair goggles are the only ones which come with three different lenses. Each lens provides incredibly sharp vision in the water and under a variety of light conditions. One happy customer describes these goggles as " one less stress on race day, an essential choice for sea and lake swims". MySwim, everything you need for your pool or open-water swim. HUUB Altair Goggles with Changeable Lens – 2020 HUUB goggles aren't just about performance, though. They're also designed with style and comfort in mind. The sleek and stylish designs will make you stand out on the road, while the comfortable fit will ensure that you can focus on your cycling without any distractions. A Range of Options to Choose From When it comes to goggles for open water swimming, a comfortable fit and the ability to see clearly in all given light conditions outside are the two most important factors. Huub released their top-of-the-line Altair goggles with this criteria in mind, and created a first-of-its kind google that offers three interchangeable lenses to help you get that perfect vision no matter how light or dark it is while you’re swimming outdoors. Here’s why the Altair is the ultimate choice for the triathlete who hasn’t found what they’re looking for yet in the perfect open water goggle: Comfort priortized

Easy to adjust — you literally just push down on a small button at the side of the lens and then tug on the strap, we were really impressed with both the sturdiness of the strap and how well the lenses of these Kayenne goggles managed to stay fog-free. Upcoming premium triathlon brand HUUB — which specializes in wetsuits for triathlon and outdoor swimming — have created the ultimate three-in-one goggle. As the most expensive goggles on our list, these are a bit of an investment, but with three different lenses (each designed for different light conditions) they’ll stand the test of time as you can swap the lenses in and out depending on when and where you’re swimming. Made of high grade polycarbonate with a soft flexible silicone seal and three interchangeable nose bridges for optimum comfort and fit. The broad lenses give an excellent field of view. For this weeks blog we have a Huub Altair swim goggles product review that we have been reviewing for the past 8 weeks testing them in pools, lakes, rivers and sea swims. Alternatives to Huub Goggles Photo-chromatic lenses vary their tint from clear to smoked to adjust to the light conditions. The most expensive lens option, they are able to handle any conditions – from night swimming to full summer sun. When it comes to cycling goggles, performance is key. And that's exactly what you get with HUUB goggles. These goggles are designed with the latest technology to ensure that you get the most out of your cycling experience. The lenses are made from materials that offer excellent clarity and protection from the sun's harmful rays. Plus, they're designed to be comfortable and stay in place no matter how intense your cycling sessions get. Stylish and Comfortable Inspired by the scuba diving industry (take a look at yourself wearing these in a mirror, and you’ll see exactly why), Aqua Sphere’s goggles are considered some of the best on the market. The Kayenne and the Kaiman, in particular, are favorites amongst triathletes and open water swimmers due to their leak-resistant comfort, clarity, and field-of-vision. Designed to provide perfect vision underwater while keeping your eyes protected, Aqua Sphere’s Kayenne goggles have large, slightly curved, triangular lenses which offer wide visibility — and make them best for open water swimming. And if you like the mask-like shape of these, but you’re not quite convinced of the clear lens, they do also produce mirrored versions (which are much better for bright, sunny days). They also come in both adult and child sizes. Featuring small frames, you don’t want to be wearing lashes of waterproof mascara in these — trust us when we say your make-up will end up on the entire lens, and then you really won’t be able to see much. Casual swimmers may find the lens shape too small, but the low profile hydrodynamic shape does offer increased peripheral vision. The double head strap also pretty much guarantees a secure fit (meaning they won’t fly off upon diving into the water) while the interchangeable nose bridges mean they cater to different-sized faces.

The Altairs have three mirrored lenses (all made from a high-grade poly carbonate) that come in the hard shell case with the goggles. Huub describes them: Designed to offer clarity in any light condition, the Huub Altair Goggles are interchangeable lens goggles that allow you to swap lenses in and out at a moment's notice. Equipped with three different lens types that suit lowlight, pool or outdoor swimming conditions, this is a versatile performance pair of lenses for the athlete looking to really dial in and adapt their performance to the situation. Whether you're looking for a classic design or something more modern, HUUB goggles have you covered. With a range of styles and colors to choose from, you're sure to find a pair that matches your personality and style. Enhance Your Cycling Experience Today We also considered extras, like whether the swimming goggles came with a case, or handy travel bag, or multiple nose grips. The last thing you want is a scratch down your new goggles, so we looked out for this when testing. How to choose the best swimming goggles for you

Aqua Sphere Kayenne Goggles Polarized Lens

For me the key to a quality set of goggles has to start with comfort and this is magnified when you are considering endurance swims or triathlon events such as an ironman. Wearing goggles for over an hour can become a real chore if you don’t have the right fit which just becomes impossible to ignore over time. Water leakage from the Huub Altair Goggles When it comes to choosing the best swimming goggles for you, it's a good idea to think about where you'll be doing most of your swimming. If you'll be doing most of your laps in the pool, you probably won't need a pair of goggles with a polarized lens that offers UV protection. On the other hand, if you are planning on doing a lot of open-water swimming, you'll want to keep the sun out of your eyes between strokes.
