the ๐ ต๐ ด๐ ด๐ ป๐ ๐ญ YA romance isn't ๐พ๐ผ๐พ๐ช๐ต๐ต๐ my jam ๐, but a heroine that has ัeะผporally loัั ะฝer ัฮนgะฝั and a hero that loัั ะฒoัะฝ ะฝฮนั legั sounded like a ๐ ค๐ ๐ ๐ ๐ ค๐ and ๐ ๐ ๐ ฃ๐ ๐ ก๐ ๐ ข๐ ฃ๐ ๐ ๐ story. I don't mind reading books with religious characters, but I got a very 'Bible Camp' feeling from this book. We hardly learned their names, but they insisted that Weston and Tessa were meant to be, and that they โshipped itโ.
His mother continues to let him do whatever he wants without ever even telling him to be safe or showing much worry at all. The characters make it a priority to discuss everything and listen to one another, and to make sure theyโre comfortable with the direction their relationship is going. What followed were a series of just idiotic actions meant to show that Weston wasnโt letting his disability stop him. Iโve mentioned it before, but Coming Up for Air was one of the best books Iโve come across when it comes to consent, YA or otherwise. I'd rather silently recommend it anonymously somewhere on the internet rather than to my friends (I think it's a given that romance books are usually secret loves. It's really easy to read, the writing style is amazing and gives you emotions, but not the kind that breakes you. The yellowness and aesthetic of it is so gorgeous, and I love the cover so much I ended up taking a ton of aesthetic-looking pictures in the backyard with it. The child characters don't sound quite right to me (including 13-year-old Weston and his friends), and the grandparents are likewise a little off. Tessaโs grandpa tries to help her by asking for any employees to type Tessaโs blog posts as he apparently thought writing always helped her. The Christian undertones were SO PREVALENT and IN YOUR FACE it felt like every conversation Tessa had with anyone other than Weston was about church and faith.

If Iโm not at the dance studio, which isnโt very often, Iโm probably doing homework, practicing guitar, watching Gilmore Girls or reading.I entered this book expecting a disability despair novel, and I was received with a dumb teenager love story. You can tell Abbie has put her years of experience writing into this, along with some pieces of herself. Things might get a bit spoilery, but I donโt recommend reading this book, so I donโt mind leaving those bits in.
