W. Timothy Gallwey (born 1938 in San Francisco, California) is an author who has written a series of books in which he has set forth a new methodology for coaching and for the development of personal and professional excellence in a variety of fields, that he calls "The Inner Game." Since he began writing in the 1970s, his books include The Inner Game of Tennis, The Inner Game of Golf, The Inner game of Music (with Barry Green), Inner Skiing and The Inner Game of Work. Gallwey's seminal work is the The Inner Game of Tennis, with more than one million copies in print.[1] Besides sports, his training methods have been applied to the fields of business, health, and education.[1] OUTLAST: The digital transformation of your core infrastructure increases the survivability of unprecedented events. Look at establishing your system or implementing one for your organization. From baby boomers to Generation X to the Digital Generation of the twenty-first century, it is more important to find the similarities in people’s job expectations and experiences than to focus on the differences.

This game is a great way to get people mixing and mingling fast, while producing some pretty hilarious results. 7 – Never Have I Ever In this book, there is some cursory discussion regarding Self 1 vs. Self 2. There is also some discussion about nonjudgmental awareness (in chapters regarding focus of attention and practice of focus), but much of the rest of the root principles of the "inner game" are obfuscated or missing when put in the practice of work.As I read the book I felt a certain affinity to all that Tim was talking about and I could totally relate to it. I had been ignoring my natural self and maybe thinking too much.

Scientists have often found a link between happiness and productivity. So it makes sense to try to encourage employees to keep a sense of fun while they work.

A paper plane competition is a great way to encourage creative thinking, while promoting careful planning and craftsmanship, and tying in a bit of healthy competitive spirit. With, of course, some fun ‘thrown’ in at the end. Most ailing organizations develop a functional blindness to their own defects. They are suffering not because they cannot solve their problems, but because they cannot see their problems. This book will not confuse you with new theories. Rather it will connect what you know with what you need to move to new levels of success.

TALENT SCOUTS: Ask teams to identify the most results-driven outlier personality types in the organization and see if they’re on the high-potential list. If not, get them onto it. GREATER PURPOSE: Map the decisions against mission, values and vision to see where they match/don’t match and discuss with your leadership team. The ideas of the triangle of Performance, Learning, and Enjoyment and bringing key variables to awareness were also fascinating and applicable.

Adventure travel is expanding each year; marathon participation is at an all-time high, with seniors as the fastest-growing segment of runners. Fantasy leagues exist in every professional sport in our country. Title IX has produced a generation of female athletes at the college level and contributed to record attendance for the LPGA and WNBA unheard of at women’s sports events twenty years ago. The Game of Work works. Since its first press run in 1984, The Game of Work has helped thousands of companies and hundreds of thousands of managers and employees experience increased job enjoyment while producing extraordinary results. It still works today.
