The first album in 7 years from seminal electronic music pioneers and twice Mercury Prize Nominated, Leftfield. Currently reaching a new audience through Idris Elba’s Gucci ad, this is their 4th album in their 28 year history. It's a dancefloor album full of big sounds, big songs and a big production. It's Leftfield at their purest. In 2010, Neil Barnes reignited the Leftfield name, and went on to release an acclaimed album ( Alternative Light Source) touring the world with the full live band. Neil has also been cementing his reputation as a top-tier DJ and record collector unleashing modern dance floor weapons, selling out venues, headlining festivals and creating some amazing nights with his sets.

Due to overwhelming demand, the group added a gig in Belfast, which also sold out in record time – full list of UK live shows is as follows; The album's cover art was photographed by American photographer Steve McCurry, and was "chosen to reflect the warmth and positivity of this musically eclectic and upbeat record as well as to celebrate the connections that we make with other throughout our lives." Barnes entered EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing) trauma therapy. “Which was fantastic and lifesaving, talking about problems in a supportive place.” After six months, he suddenly found himself opening up about what he describes as “a single incident of abuse, which happened to me when I was very young, and witnessing my parents’ reaction to it … ” He had buried this for decades. He argues that other children have had much worse, but the therapy fired an interest in attachment theory and healing. “Which is what the album is about. I went on a bit of a journey and now I feel in a much more comfortable position to talk openly about these issues because men, particularly, bury them.”This Is What We Do is dedicated to the memory of Andrew Weatherall who we all owe an enormous dept. Like Neil Barnes of Leftfield, I know what it feels like when a colonoscopy ends with a nasty surprise. The trauma of having to imbibe several litres of Moviprep and allow it to purge your body turns out to be a mere inconvenience, as does the indignity of the procedure itself. Nothing quite prepares you for the news that there's a malignant tumour in your bowel. copies sold by Assai Records with an approved hand numbered Japanese style Obi under Assai Obi Editions.
