Description

This is a strong 4 out of 5 from me, and one of the non-18+ highlights of 2021, and cannot recommend this enough. On the one hand, the set can be converted into a castle with a slightly different layout. In this version there is only one tower, but a slightly larger forge, a windmill and a piece of wall. The whole thing is complemented by a tree and a market stall where knight armor is sold. The third option lets you build a very high tower that is besieged by a blide . In our opinion, this is the weakest of the three buildable options. One technique to add flavour and variety to a build like a castle is to vary the colours, and this is actually something that 31120 Medieval Castle already does very well. Where a LEGO castle from 30 years ago would have been the one, bland light grey all over and only broken up by the occasional printed part, changing out some of the light grey today for dark grey and earthy colours like olive green gives the build a sense of texture and life, without having to move away from an otherwise simple build technique.

As is standard with Creator sets, the focus is on the build rather than minifigures, so only three are included. They are fantastic figures, however! It’s great fun that will last you a couple of hours (on the main Castle build) at a really affordable pricepoint. The tower retains a lot of the architectural features of the period, and as a result feels like a similar build to the castle in places, such as the windows and turrets. Other areas employ new techniques, though, including the excellent dragon head gargoyles that decorate the walls, the small alchemist’s desk that sits in the third floor, and the telescope that’s at the top of the tower. That’s not to say that the build was boring, but this is obviously aimed at younger kids aged 9+, so it has to remain quite accessible, while at the same time leveraging modern building techniques. The room above the entrance houses the drawbridge mechanism; turning an axle on the side of one of the towers raises and lowers it. In its most upright position, it doesn't quite fit completely snug against the entrance, but is still quite effective.Pharmacy technical assistants and pharmacy assistants (See 33103 Pharmacy technical assistants and pharmacy assistants) What we would like to do is ‘age up’ the model, and the simplest way to do that is to strip away the brighter colours and throw texture into the walls. There are a number of techniques to achieve this, including some already in use in the set. Colour variation Where a loan relationship is sold for deferred consideration, the amount reflected in the accounts may depend on whether the consideration is ascertainable or unascertainable when the disposal takes place. The amount brought into account under the loan relationships rules is the amount shown in the accounts. Any subsequent adjustments shown in the accounts will give rise to taxable credits or allowable debits, even though the company is no longer party to the loan relationship. See CFM33280 for more on amounts recognised after disposal. Now there are things missing like horses and more figures, but this is a great start in terms of structure parts, and expandable with already existing owned sets/parts due to it's not too strict color scheme.

LEGO have been absolutely slaying the game when it comes to large, ambitious 18+/Creator Expert sets, and doubling down on nostalgia in 2021. This is then connected to a Technic axle with four bars that sits on the side of the wall. Turning the axle raises and lowers the drawbridge. It’s a neat little play feature that again represents a significant update on castles of old, which used string and were quite fiddly to operate and construct. Inside, the walkways only connect when the castle is fully closed, but however it is displayed it looks fantastic. The unique polarographic sensor design of the Orbisphere 311xx Sensors is a proven performer wherever knowledge of O 2 content is critical. Female knights were never the norm, but they definitely existed. There are plenty of medieval writings featuring female knights or other women who took up weapons, wore armor, and rode into battle alongside their male comrades-in-arms.It looks great, and I especially like the use of transparent cheese slopes to create the effect of rushing water. With consideration to everything we have changed, it was important in this modification of 31120 Medieval Castle to maintain the general framework of the original set, so as to still enjoy the very many elements of design that make it work so well. Your comment that "I think I can guess at the interior…" makes a very strong point about how "samey" traditional castle sets often are in terms of features (for example, a gatehouse, dungeon, throne room, treasury, and some stone towers). However I'm honestly really impressed how this one goes "above and beyond" by including features that you wouldn't see in a typical "king's castle" set: arrow loops, half-timbered walls, working machicolations, a watchtower with a wooden hoarding, a garderobe, a fireplace, a smithy, a market stall, and even a moat! Not to mention the numerous landscaping elements like the mossy green hill, flowering tree, wildflowers, mushrooms, and crawling ivy.
