As mentioned earlier, the GX doesn’t offer any improvement in image quality over the cheaper CX. That’s not a huge deal, however, as there’s not much to improve upon. Indeed, turn on the GX and your first instinct will probably be to sit down and start rewatching every one of your favourite movies; if you’re coming from an older LCD set, or an elderly Plasma, the sheer difference in clarity and contrast is staggering. These natural talents combine with super-wide viewing angles, a highly effective anti-glare coating and great picture processing to ensure the GX delivers pristine image quality in most situations. In our review, we called the C1 one of the best TVs at any price. It’s missing the new OLED evo panels going into the G1 OLED, but even in their absence the C1 produces colorful, bright and rich pictures with support for most types of HDR. There might be one or two areas for improvement, but otherwise the LG C1 OLED is still the gold standard for 2021 OLED TVs.
