BECAUSE HE ANOINTED ME TO PREACH THE GOSPEL TO THE POOR. HE HAS SENT ME TO PROCLAIM RELEASE TO THE CAPTIVES, AND RECOVERY OF SIGHT TO THE BLIND, TO SET FREE THOSE WHO ARE OPPRESSED, to open the eyes of the blind, to bring the bound and them that sit in darkness out of bonds and the prison-house. The meek shall eat and be satisfied: they shall praise the LORD that seek him: your heart shall live for ever. The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon Me, Because the LORD has anointed Me To preach good tidings to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, To proclaim liberty to the captives, And the opening of the prison to those who are bound; To open blind eyes, To bring out prisoners from the dungeon And those who dwell in darkness from the prison.

There are four keys that linked together bring great victory in the lives of those who are bound & tormented. For seventeen years, Elaine served her master, Satan, with total commitment. Then she met Dr. Rebecca Brown, who served her master, Jesus Christ, with equal commitment. Elaine, one of the top witches in the U.S., clashed with Dr. Brown, who stood against her alone. In the titanic life-and-death struggle that followed, Dr. Brown nearly lost her life. Elaine, finding a power and love greater than anything Satan could give her, left Satan and totally committed her life to Jesus Christ. And I will bring the blind by a way that they knew not; I will lead them in paths that they have not known: I will make darkness light before them, and crooked things straight. These things will I do unto them, and not forsake them.As for me, this is my covenant with them, saith the LORD; My spirit that is upon thee, and my words which I have put in thy mouth, shall not depart out of thy mouth, nor out of the mouth of thy seed, nor out of the mouth of thy seed's seed, saith the LORD, from henceforth and for ever. In the synagogue there was a man possessed by the spirit of an unclean demon, and he cried out with a loud voice, What is the descent that Paul is thinking about when he says, "he also first descended into the lower parts of the earth" (verse 9)? And He came to Nazareth, where He had been brought up; and as was His custom, He entered the synagogue on the Sabbath, and stood up to read.

It was Christ who exercised this leadership from his throne in heaven, and he continues to do so through providence and the inspired writings of those whom he gifted. Christ the Firstfruits He is the one who will do it. Be steadfast in the Lord. Modern medicine does not offer complete healing, but Jesus perfects your healing. Keep your faith alive in Jesus for all things are possible with God. Let us alone! What business do we have with each other, Jesus of Nazareth? Have You come to destroy us? I know who You are — the Holy One of God!” The Spirit of the Lord Jehovah is on me, Because Jehovah did anoint me To proclaim tidings to the humble, He sent me to bind the broken of heart, To proclaim to captives liberty, And to bound ones an opening of bands.The Spirit of the Lord is on Me, because He has anointed Me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent Me to proclaim liberty to the captives and recovery of sight to the blind, to release the oppressed, How many times have you felt downtrodden and broken? The circumstances of life have taken their toll. You don’t know whether or not you can get up and go again. Just remember that Jesus identifies with you in every moment of brokenness. He understands. I think we can take this a step further. Since we are viewing the words "he led" (Ephesians 4:8) as an act ofChrist begun at his ascension, but continuing throughout the gospel age, then we should see those words as including even his final act of leadership on earth, shouldn't we? That final act is one that he will perform personally at his second coming toearth. The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me, Because the LORD has anointed me To bring good news to the afflicted; He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, To proclaim liberty to captives, And freedom to prisoners;

Christ led a host of captives (his church) through the agency of the Holy Spirit who gifted certain men with divine inspiration. Thus empowered, they could preach to all slaves of sin the true message of liberty, and lead them for Christ into light and liberty as captives ofChrist. Jesus came and told his disciples, "I have been given complete authority in heaven and on earth. Matthew 28:18 It would not be politically correct to speak against the poor today. Yet the actions of some people signal their contempt for them. If they only worked as hard as we do, they say, they would not be poor. We often are not eager to bring the poor to our services. They don’t dress as well as we do. Even in a dress casual environment, their casual clothes are not of the designer type. Unspoken, yet this is a powerful silent testimony to a wrong attitude. to open their eyes, so that they may turn from darkness to light and from the power of Satan to God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins and an inheritance among those sanctified by faith in Me.'Jesus, anointed of the Spirit, would preach the gospel to them. Literally, he would “evangelize” [euaggelizo] them or “announce the good news” to them. The gospel [euangelion] is good news and it is for the poor as well as all others.

What is your condition today? Have you come with skepticism? Have you closed your eyes to the truth? Do you feel a need for someone outside of you to help you see? Cry out to Jesus. He is here to minister to you! IV. Set Free the Downtrodden Was there an economic message to the poor? The answer is “yes,” but we must be careful how we express it. We must not exalt either wealth or poverty. The Spirit of the Lord GOD is on Me, because the LORD has anointed Me to bring good news to the poor. He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives and freedom to the prisoners; You will open the eyes of the blind. You will free the captives from prison, releasing those who sit in dark dungeons. Lord Jesus we are waiting at the Upper Room to receive our own annointing to do what you did. Bless us now, for we need this for great evangelism in Jesus name Amen.to open eyes that are blind, to free captives from prison and to release from the dungeon those who sit in darkness. Verse 19 will provide our conclusion. Jesus was anointed to “proclaim the favorable year of the Lord.” To open the blind eyes, to bring out the prisoners from the prison, and them that sit in darkness out of the prison house. Break forth into joy, sing together, ye waste places of Jerusalem: for the LORD hath comforted his people, he hath redeemed Jerusalem.
